Well the New Year is still fresh and January has us looking ahead to what’s happening in wedding flower trends for 2015. For those lucky enough to be engaged over the holidays (congratulations!) we know that you are busily planning your big event, and spring and summer are the most popular months to wed. We’ve taken a look a various wedding trends from runway to Hollywood, and here are some predictions for what will be hot for your 2015 wedding flowers.

1. Fresh from the Garden

Mixed bouquets will continue to be hot into 2015. This look is a bit less structured, with blooms pulled together in mixed hues that recreate a “just picked from the garden” vibe. Garden roses, tulips, lisianthus, spray roses and daisies will all work well with this look.

2. Luxurious and Romantic Centerpieces

This year will see more brides splash out on their wedding flowers and opt for large scale centerpieces that have huge impact. Masses of flowers create a luxurious look. Romantic flower choices such as hyrdrangea, orchids, roses, or lilies would be lovely in these arrangements. Your centerpiece doesn’t have to break the wedding budget either; choose fresh bulk flowers from Bunches Direct at low prices and do it yourself (for a great video, check out this one on How to Make Your Own Floral Centerpieces, and add as many flowers as you like). Or you can buy gorgeous ready-made centerpieces from Bunches Direct and with the savings you can even group them for a massed effect.

Scents of Spring Centerpiece- The price is so low you can group 3 together for an even fuller look

3. Floral Crowns

More brides are opting for this romantic look, as seen on celebrities celebrities such as Ashley Tisdale, Anne Hathaway and Kirsten Dunst. (You can read more about Ashley’s romantic wedding in another of our Blog posts.) They are also surprisingly easy to make using fresh bulk flowers and some simple floral supplies. Read how to Make Your Own Floral Crown and buy bulk flowers from Bunches Direct.

4. Classic “One Flower Type” Bouquets

Simply White Bridal Bouquet

Elegant, simple, clean: combinations of simple white and green will never go out of style.  Bouquets made of a group of a single type of bloom have a clean, classic impact. White and ivory work well as the main flower color, and roses and calla lilies are great choices.

Every year, the Pantone Color Institute picks a color that they predict will be the biggest of the year. This means that based on current trends and indicators they feel that this color will have a big impact on fashion, beauty, housewares, home design and consumer packaging. The 2014 pick was Radiant Orchid, a rich jewel toned fuschia, and in 2013 the pick was Brilliant Emerald.

The pick for 2015? An earthy, brownish-red hue called Marsala after the wine that inspired it. This color is described by Pantone as being “a naturally robust and earthy wine-red,” whose “impactful, full-bodied qualities make for an elegant, grounded statement color when used on its own or as a strong accent to many other colors.”

Marsala shown in book, sofa, toss cushion and clothing

What do color experts think of Marsala? “It’s nice, but it surprises me,” says color consultant Jean Molesworth Kee, owner of the Painted Room in Alexandria, VA.. “We have been veering from red or burgundy wall colour now for years. This has a dusky, earthy quality.” Kee says she could see Marsala used in “an ethnic bohemian place.” She added, “It’s muted and it reminds me of Morocco or of faded old Oriental rugs. It would go nicely with warm, sandy colours and browns.”

Celebrities like Beyonce and Taylor Swift are already embracing Marsala in fashion.

If you want to stay on trend with your 2015 wedding, consider using Marsala! It would make an excellent color for bridesmaid dresses. It would pair well with the guys in beige, warm gray, brown or black suits, and could be used in their ties. (For a tie example using Marsala, check out this one from Michael Kors.)

It could also be used in event linens such as napkins or tablecloths, or perhaps in backdrops or accessories at the venue. Marsala can also be incorporated into wedding flower color schemes as well, either by selecting flowers of a similar tone or a coordinating color mix.

As a general guide, Marsala goes well with neutrals such as warmer taupes and grays, umber, creamy beige, blue-grays, dark browns, or blacks. It would also look great with brighter hues like turquoise, bright yellow, or certain shades of pinks. Overall it’s a stable and versatile shade and will be flattering to many people.

Here are some suggested wedding flower color palettes, with bouquet picks from Bunches Direct that would look great with Marsala. Happy Wedding Planning!

Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi from the hit reality show The Jersey Shore married her longtime love Jionni LaValle last Saturday, November 29. The wedding took place at the St. Rose of Lima church followed by a reception at the Venetian hotel in Garfield, New Jersey. The pair have been engaged since March 2012 and have two children together, Lorenzo, 2, and Giovanna Marie, 3 months.

Snooki apparently stayed calm leading up to the big day, saying, “It’s not that hard to plan a wedding. For me, it’s just that I don’t let myself get stressed out. I just enjoy the moment and I try to be positive about everything.” (I guess we would have to check with Jionni and her friends to see how true this statement was.)

Approximately 500 guests attended the nuptials. Other Jersey Shore guests included their friend Paul “DJ Pauly D” DelVecchio, who looked conservative and crisp in a navy suit and tie. (What, no tank shirt and gold chains?)

The wedding was arranged in a black and gold color scheme in a “Great Gatsby” Roaring 20′s theme, complete with cigar and scotch bar. Snooki’s BFF Jenni “JWoww” Farley and fellow reality stars Sammi Giancola and Deena Nicole Cortese served as bridesmaids, wearing sexy strapless black dresses with bows. All rocked glittering headbands that were a nod to the “Roaring 20′s theme.

The simple but elegant bridesmaid bouquets were done up in shades of cream and white, which nicely contrasted with the black dresses.

Snooki wore two dresses, both from Bridal Reflections, for her special day. For the ceremony she wore a cream-colored, traditional lace gown in a vintage style. She changed into a strapless dress for the reception. (Nope, no leather or animal prints in sight.) She posted a photo of the gown on her official website an hour before the ceremony. There was still bling to be had in the gown’s detailing, and a lot of it added to the wedding bouquet.

There was also a lot of glitter on her fit-and-flare style reception dress, the “Elite” style gown designed by Ines DiSanto, which Snooki wore with a bejeweled headband and fingerless gloves.

After after a big night of celebrations that included free-flowing scotch, the new husband and wife woke on their first morning as a married couple feeling a tad under the weather, in true Jersey Shore style.  “Hungover with my husband (That will not get old),” Snooki shared via Twitter on Sunday morning. “Getting mcdonalds and being slobs together. Waiting for walking dead tonight,” she added.

Later in the day, the newly minted husband-and-wife posted a photo of their sparkling wedding bands.

“Thank you @bandbjewelry for our gorgeous wedding rings,” Snooki wrote. “We couldn’t be happier!!”

Snooki has already updated her name on her Instagram account and seems to be proud and happy to be “Mrs.Nicole LaValle.” We wish them all the best (and seeing as there was no pre-nup signed, we assume Snookie will make every effort to make the marriage last!)

Wedding bouquet suggestions: Fancy White Bridal Bouquet, or Heavenly Morning Bridal Bouquet would both be amazing if you love Snooki’s look.

Kaley Cuoco of the Big Bang Theory is enjoying a rare opportunity for brides: the chance to wear her wedding dress again! Yesterday Kaley got to haul her lovely Vera Wang dress out of the closet to wear in a video promotion for her upcoming movie The Wedding Ringer.

She was a happy gal, captioning the photo on her Instagram  ‘I got to wear my wedding dress for a second time! I feel giddy! #weddingringermusicvideo @aloeblacc @verawanggang.’

Kaley, 28, married tennis player Ryan Sweeting on New Year’s Eve 2014. Their wedding took place at the Hummingbird Nest Ranch in the Santa Susana Mountains just north of Los Angeles in front of about 150 guests.

The couple first shared their joy, and a closer look at Kaley’s unusual dress, on Instagram. Kaley’s strapless, petal-pink ball gown dress was an unorthodox choice for most brides—a fluffy creation of pink and white chiffon. The gown featured hand gathered detailing on the bodice, with hand applique Chantilly lace accents above the tulle and chiffon skirt. For the ceremony she also wore a nude tulle veil, also from Vera Wang.

Her wedding flowers coordinated perfectly with her dress in shades of, you guessed it, pink and white. Towering and dramatic arrangements flanked the couple at the venue. (I am loving the white branches interspersed with masses of white and cream flowers including large garden roses, spray roses and hydrangeas!)

What did you think of Kaley’s pink wedding dress? If you loved her “pink princess” look, here are some beautiful Bunches Direct wedding flower suggestions.Enjoy and happy wedding planning!

The beautiful Candice Accola from the hit show Vampire Diaries married rock star musician Joe King of the Fray last Saturday October 18. We thought we’d share some details since the wedding photos and video were so gorgeous!

Candice, 27, and Joe, 34, met at Direct TV’s Celebrity Beach Bowl in 2012 and were engaged in Florence in May 2013. Their wedding took place in New Orleans with friends and family in attendance, including Joe’s two daughters from his previous marriage. Candice plays vampire Caroline Forbes on the CW television series, and several of her vamp costars joined her for the wedding, including Paul Wesley, Michael Trevino, Kat Graham, Claire Holt, Nina Dobrev, and bridesmaid Kayla Ewell. Ian Somerhalder couldn’t make it, but Ian sent a message via Instagram from the Atlanta set where he was shooting:

““Candace and Joe- my brother, my sister. What a magical day this is for both of you. From the eye of the storm I am still with you in spirit! I am missing my home state of Louisiana and my city, the great city of New Orleans. Sending you so much love from my shoot in ATL- i’m working hard & I wish I could be there physically, but we have the rest of our lives to celebrate. I love you guys! So. Much.”

Candice was stunning in a lovely strapless Monique Lhuillier wedding gown with an asymmetrical skirt, while Joe looked magazine-worthy in a Tom Ford tuxedo. The wedding took place at Montegut House in a romantic garden setting. Their reception was a dreamy affair with music and dancing. Love the trees, the vintage chandeliers, and all the candles– the whole New Orleans setting was perfect for a “vampire” wedding. (Think Brad Pitt & Tom Cruise, Interview with a Vampire). Love the black and white photos that the couple released also!

The happy pair also enjoyed a line parade along Bourbon Street in the French Quarter, a century old tradition in New Orleans. Candice held a pretty parasol and she and Joe were followed by happy guests and accompanied by a brass band.

Everyone clearly had a fantastic time at the wedding.”Officially Mr. and Mrs. King! Best night ever!” Candice gushed on her Instagram page.

The pair released a sweet wedding video put together by Valare Imaginarium that shows more of the celebration, the wedding flowers, and Candice’s dress. It captures the couple’s wedding day from before to after the big event. Check it out here: Candice & Joe Wedding Video

Now for the wedding flowers! In a clip from the video, we can see the lovely Candice in her veil and gown, holding a generous bouquet made up of mixed greenery and white roses. (When more photos are released hopefully we can get a better view of it!). If you love this look, here are some suggestions from Bunches Direct. Remember that all our bouquets can be customized! You can start with something like the Pure White, or Pure Passion bridal bouquets, then ask for more greenery, such as Seeded Eucalyptus, Leucadendron, or Ferns to create a more full look. You could also add some Queen Anne’s Lace and white Allium to add to the natural effect. You will have a “vampire-worthy” wedding bouquet in no time!

We wish Candice and her rock star husband years of happiness together! (And we look forward to watching her on Vampire Diaries for many more seasons…)

Hosting an all white wedding is a popular theme that is growing in popularity. The white-on-white wedding is an elegant and modern trend that is timeless and always in style. Though suitable for any season, it is especially appropriate for a winter wedding.

Brides wishing to have an all white wedding can start with classy white invitations to set the theme. Use white linens and clear crystal candelabras for tables, or pair white with either gold or silver. Place white candies at a dessert bar or give away as wedding favors.

If you are brave enough, you can even put the bridesmaids in white. (If you are really going to get immersed in the theme, you can even ask your guests to wear white.)

For celebrity decorating inspiration we can look to Ivanka Trump’s amazing 2009 wedding to publisher Jared Kushner. The wedding took place at (where else?) Trump National Golf Club, with the reception held in lavish white tents. The design genius behind the wedding decor? None other than event planner extraordinaire, Preston Bailey.

Long tables were set with a fairytale Venetian flair, white paired with (what else for a Trump?) gold. The flowers were a spectacular array in all white, including lilies of the valley, hydrangeas, orchids, ranunculus, roses and gardenias. The first tablescape featured white ceramic topiaries filled with lush bouquets of roses and hydrangeas. Floating gardenia blossoms in ponds graced the second tablescape, and for the third, Bailey created towering custom-made crystal candelabras, topped with masses of blooms and white pillar candles.

For a successful white-on-white wedding that is dramatic instead of dull, texture and layering becomes very important. For table linens, consider using a patterned as opposed to a smooth fabric. Light projections that move or change can also help keep things looking fresh and dynamic. The flowers are a hugely important element as they will be a central focus. Try mixing varieties and incorporating high and low elements with candles for greater impact and interest. Flowers can also add the needed flair and dimension to an all white layer cake. (Ivanka’s cake was pretty spectacular…!)

For wedding bouquets and cake toppers, there are a few amazing choices, all available at www.bunchesdirect.com, www.bunchesdirect.ca, or www.bunchesdirect.com.au. Bunches Direct also sells bulk flowers in white, in a amazing varieties, for the D.I.Y. wedding crowd.
