A look back at some memorable (and perhaps less well known) celebrity weddings that featured—you guessed it—insanely gorgeous wedding flowers! We may not have the celebrity budget but we can create our own versions of these awesome celebrity looks. It’s also a great cost saving idea to buy flowers in bulk from a reputable online supplier and DIY. Many of these floral “looks” can be recreated on a smaller scale with some creative vision and a bit of effort that will be well worth it after all the compliments you receive!

Here is a look back at some of the most memorable celebrity “flower moments”…which was your favorite?

Amal Alamuddin & George Clooney: Floral Arch

Amal and George were married in Venice and can we say “wow’ to all the spectacular wedding flowers that were featured in this over-the-top event. They adorned the river boats with fresh flowers, lined rooms with flowers, created stunning tall arrangements to frame the ceremony, and had photos taken under a magnificent floral archway.

Click for tips on how to make a smaller version of your own floral arch.

Kim Kardashian & Kanye West: The Floral Wall

Well this one was truly jaw-dropping: for their Florence nuptials Kimye ordered up a massive wall of flowers to surround them during their vows. The wall was reputed to be 25 feet high, and loaded up from top to bottom with an amazing array of blooms including hydrangea, roses, spray roses, lisianthus and many more, all in shades of white. For more info on how to create your own DIY floral walls, check out our blog on Floral Backdrops.

Ivanka Trump: Centerpieces by Preston Bailey

Amazing! These centerpieces and other tabletop florals were designed by the venerable Preston Bailey and his team, and they were over-the-top gorgeous! The florals were the star of this Trump wedding which took place at (where else) Trump National Golf Course in Bedminster, New Jersey. If you love this wedding look, keep your own flowers to all cream or white, and opt to include blooms such as roses, hydrangea, freesia, stephanotis, lilies, and lisianthus, to name a few key ingredients. For more Preston Bailey inspiration, check out his wonderful book called Preston Bailey: Flowers. His anecdotal stories from weddings and events (including those for A-listers like Oprah Winfrey, Jennifer Hudson, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and others) are also sure to amaze. And speaking of Catherine Zeta-Jones…

Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas: Floral Wedding Cake

In case you didn’t see it, this couple’s 1998 wedding at the Plaza Hotel in New York featured a spectacular multi-tiered cake covered with fresh flowers. Flowers on a cake don’t have to bust your budget. You can bake or buy a reasonably priced wedding cake and adorn it with beautiful flowers you can buy in bulk. BunchesDirect also has some ready-to-use floral cake toppers that you can buy and add to your own cake, for an even easier solution. After some rocky times and separations, apparently the couple is stronger than ever (we’ll see).

Browsing through celebrity photos can give you plenty of inspiration as a starting point for planning your own special event. Be sure to speak to a floral professional for even more assistance, or get a quote online based on your ideas.

We are used to Rhianna’s edgy style and bold fashion choices (the sheer tank that displayed her nipple rings comes to mind…) and she is not shy when it comes to dressing up for events. This past weekend we glimpsed a far more demure Riri as she stood as bridesmaid for her best friend and assistant Jennifer Morales.

Jennifer married Aaron Davis this past Monday, in Honolulu, Hawaii in a lovely beach side ceremony.

Rhianna made time in her busy schedule to support her friend, looking sweet in a lilac colored, tulle Badgley Mischka Couture dress embroidered with white flowers. The dress was sleeveless and low backed, and Rhianna added some purple lipstick to modernize the look.

Her bridesmaid bouquet was a simple and elegant creation of white roses. If you love this look, check out the Classic White Rose bridal bouquet from BunchesDirect!

Or better yet, go for a 10 Piece White Rose Wedding Package, for even more savings.

The other bridesmaids all wore gowns in varying shades of purple, while the bride opted for a traditional white gown. Love the varying hues of the same color, with all the different dress styles. (Now this looks more like Riri, with the cigarette dangling from her lips…)

You can check out Rhianna’s own pics on Instagram for more wedding fun with Bad Gal Riri and pals! Looks like a fun time was had by all. Was there ever any doubt? For more celebrity inspiration, check out David Arquette’s wedding.

We’ve all marveled at celebrity weddings—big budget, celebrity guests, dazzling venue, designer gowns, and all the glamorous elements that make us enjoy the sneak peak into the glittering world of the rich and famous. Celebrity brides are also sometimes bridesmaids, and it’s fun to see how a celebrity bridesmaid can fit into a more “normal” wedding day. With BunchesDirect, you can always get the “celebrity” look for a whole lot less! For fun, here’s a look at some weddings that featured some famous faces, with our wedding flower picks.

Jessica Simpson was a beautiful bridesmaid at the fall wedding of her publicist, Lauren Auslander. This Rhode Island wedding was featured on Martha Stewart Weddings. Jessica wore a midnight blue gown by Amsali.

BunchesDirect bouquet matches: Dreamy Cloud, or Hold Me Close.

Selena Gomez jumped for joy in a vivid blue dress in her friend’s beach wedding in Mexico. Bunches Direct Bouquet matches: Classic White Calla Lily Bouquet.

Keira Knightley was a lovely bridesmaid at her brother’s wedding in Scotland in 2011. According to Keira, she wasn’t very good at it as she kept spilling food and drinks down her dress! For bouquet matches, we suggest: Queen’s Delight, or Valentine Bridal bouquets.

Katharine McPhee almost looked like a bride at her sister Adriana’s Los Angeles wedding in 2012. BunchesDirect bouquet matches: Irish Bliss, or Pure Intentions.

We love the dove gray gowns that Jennifer Garner and the other bridesmaids wore at her friend’s wedding in Montecito, paired with creative bouquets of pink, white and dark burgundy. BunchesDirect bouquet suggestions: Life’s Journey, or White Sky.

Sarah Michelle Gellar in a sweet pink and black dress at her friend’s Santa Monica wedding back in 2006. BunchesDirect bouquet suggestions: Delicate Enchantment, or Fade into Me.

Eva Longoria was a gorgeous goddess in lilac at her friend Bonnie Rodezno’s LA wedding last June, escorting the adorable ring bearer in preparation for the bride’s entrance. BunchesDirect bouquet suggestion: Pink Doll.

Solange Knowles, otherwise known as Beyoncé’s little sister and former Destiny’s Child singer, married video director Alan Ferguson in New Orleans last Sunday October 16. The theme was definitely “hipster-chic in white” as all guests, including sister Beyoncé, niece Blue Ivy, brother-in-law Jay Z and mother Tina were encouraged to dress in white.

After weekend events such as a group movie night and rehearsal dinner, the wedding ceremony took place in Holy Trinity Church (also called Marigny Opera House) with approximately 100 guests in attendance. Solange admits she is the one who pursued her man, saying “In the beginning, I was the one who approached him, so I have always sort of historically been one of those girls that goes after something that I’m into,” she said. “I’m not very old school and like, I’m not gonna wait on you. Wait for you to approach me type of situation.” Nice work, Solange!

Solange, 28, and Alan, 51, arrived at the ceremony not by limo or carriage, but by bicycle. Solange wore an awesome looking white caped jumpsuit. Let’s face it: this is not a look that everyone could pull off. You really have to know who you are to wear a caped jumpsuit. It is a practical choice too, however, seeing as bike riding was involved. Solange rocked it and Alan looked crisp and stylish in a white suit by Lanvin. Her bicycle (also white) was decorated with cream roses and baby’s breath for that added “wedding” touch. Alan got a flat tire en route and had to push his bike part of the way, but that didn’t detract from the fun they had.

Once at the venue Solange changed into a long caped gown by Humberto Leon for Kenzo, bracelets by Jill for Lady Grey, and Stuart Weitzman shoes. She walked down the aisle to the instrumental symphonic version of Donny Hathaway’s “I Love the Lord, He Heard My Cry.”

After the ceremony the sole glitch in the well coordinated events took place, when Solange broke out in hives of some kind (nerves and emotion, or food allergy?). Her sister was quick to help, and luckily for Solange the hives quickly faded. (Hives are not the accessory of choice for most wedding photos.)

Solange later praised Benadryl on her Instagram account, saying “”Shout out to Benadryl yo, lol,” Knowles wrote. “NOTHING was gonna stop me from having my mother and son dance with Julez.”

The dinner reception also took place at Marigny House, with a series of long tables set up for a four course meal on white linens with gold cutlery. Guests enjoyed a traditional Southern menu.

During the reception Solange performed an adorable choreographed dance with her son Julez to the song “No Flex Zone.” If you haven’t seen the video, watch it here and prepare to go “awwww, I want to do that too. Why didn’t I marry a video director?”

Post supper, the guests boarded three party buses for a trip to Esplanade Street, where they exited and danced along multiple blocks to a live band. Frankly, it looks like an awesome time and the sparklers were a festive and fun touch. The party then continued in a second reception at the New Orleans Museum of Art.

The wedding photos are amazing. Photographer Rog Walker did an awesome job of staging the participants into striking and artistic tableaus with a definite theatrical flair. The all-female family photo is particularly striking, and reminiscent of the work of Italian contemporary artist Vanessa Beecroft.

Looks like a wonderful wedding in New Orleans! Solange and Alan have a distinct sense of style and flair and an evident desire to do things their own way. And hey, even celebrities get flat tires and hives but with the right attitude (and a bit of allergy medication) the party continues. Best wishes to the Fergusons!

Love the white and cream color palette? You can order bulk roses and baby’s breath from Bunches Direct, and use the Classic White Rose or Pretty in White Bridal Bouquet for your own stylish white wedding flowers.

Well, the Laguna Beach weddings have continued! Last month Lauren Conrad got married in a romantic mountainside vineyard in Santa Ynes, California. Now her fellow Laguna Beach alum Alex Murrell has followed her own path down the wedding aisle and was married last Saturday, October 25, at the Calamigos Ranch in Malibu.

Alex, 27, married Kyle Mark Johnson in a beautiful rustic outdoor ceremony. The ceremony was conducted under a trellis draped with an elegant fabric backdrop edged with floral garlands and clusters of flowers, framed by amazing curly willow branches. Alex and Kyle were engaged in July 2013 during a trip to Thailand.

Alex has revealed some sweet insider details to their love story: apparently she first met Kyle when he stayed briefly with her family.

She was 12 and he was 19.  She developed a crush on him and told her family how much she wanted to marry him. Apparently Kyle thought this was funny and told her perhaps they would date when she was older. He left that summer and she didn’t see or hear from him for 10 years.

When she was 22, she and a friend were having dinner in Laguna when Alex came across Kyle’s Facebook page. On impulse, she posted a message, and he replied (see conversation above)…the rest is history!

They were an official couple within a week after reuniting. Some things are meant to be, I guess.

For their wedding, Alex went sexy in a form fitting Berta Bridal gown that featured a plunging neckline and lace bodice, as well as a low back. Her hair was worn in loose waves, with a simple veil attached at the crown. Kyle wore a classic black tux and looked very much the happy groom.

Her BFF’s and former Laguna co-stars Alex Hooser and Taylor Cole were both bridesmaids in the wedding, looking amazing in floor-length maroon gowns. All the guests and attendants enjoyed the photo booth, as show in some of the Instagram postings.

The flowers suited the rustic outdoor venue, and were beautifully accented by romantic candles, curly willow branches, and other earthy wooden details.

If you love Alex’s wedding decorations, you can achieve a similar look (at a fraction of the cost) by buying bulk wedding flowers and creating your own tablescapes and garlands based on her decor ideas. Choose dahlias, hydrangea, seeded eucalyptus, baby’s breath, limonium, spray roses, garden roses, rose petals, lisianthus, chrysanthemums and assorted greenery. All the following bulk flowers can be found at Bunches Direct and will help you pull together a similar look, or let us do it for you, at a fraction of the cost of traditional florists. As always, our talented floral consultants are available to help you…at NO charge!

Feel free to send questions to [email protected] In the meantime, enjoy your own love story!

The beautiful Candice Accola from the hit show Vampire Diaries married rock star musician Joe King of the Fray last Saturday October 18. We thought we’d share some details since the wedding photos and video were so gorgeous!

Candice, 27, and Joe, 34, met at Direct TV’s Celebrity Beach Bowl in 2012 and were engaged in Florence in May 2013. Their wedding took place in New Orleans with friends and family in attendance, including Joe’s two daughters from his previous marriage. Candice plays vampire Caroline Forbes on the CW television series, and several of her vamp costars joined her for the wedding, including Paul Wesley, Michael Trevino, Kat Graham, Claire Holt, Nina Dobrev, and bridesmaid Kayla Ewell. Ian Somerhalder couldn’t make it, but Ian sent a message via Instagram from the Atlanta set where he was shooting:

““Candace and Joe- my brother, my sister. What a magical day this is for both of you. From the eye of the storm I am still with you in spirit! I am missing my home state of Louisiana and my city, the great city of New Orleans. Sending you so much love from my shoot in ATL- i’m working hard & I wish I could be there physically, but we have the rest of our lives to celebrate. I love you guys! So. Much.”

Candice was stunning in a lovely strapless Monique Lhuillier wedding gown with an asymmetrical skirt, while Joe looked magazine-worthy in a Tom Ford tuxedo. The wedding took place at Montegut House in a romantic garden setting. Their reception was a dreamy affair with music and dancing. Love the trees, the vintage chandeliers, and all the candles– the whole New Orleans setting was perfect for a “vampire” wedding. (Think Brad Pitt & Tom Cruise, Interview with a Vampire). Love the black and white photos that the couple released also!

The happy pair also enjoyed a line parade along Bourbon Street in the French Quarter, a century old tradition in New Orleans. Candice held a pretty parasol and she and Joe were followed by happy guests and accompanied by a brass band.

Everyone clearly had a fantastic time at the wedding.”Officially Mr. and Mrs. King! Best night ever!” Candice gushed on her Instagram page.

The pair released a sweet wedding video put together by Valare Imaginarium that shows more of the celebration, the wedding flowers, and Candice’s dress. It captures the couple’s wedding day from before to after the big event. Check it out here: Candice & Joe Wedding Video

Now for the wedding flowers! In a clip from the video, we can see the lovely Candice in her veil and gown, holding a generous bouquet made up of mixed greenery and white roses. (When more photos are released hopefully we can get a better view of it!). If you love this look, here are some suggestions from Bunches Direct. Remember that all our bouquets can be customized! You can start with something like the Pure White, or Pure Passion bridal bouquets, then ask for more greenery, such as Seeded Eucalyptus, Leucadendron, or Ferns to create a more full look. You could also add some Queen Anne’s Lace and white Allium to add to the natural effect. You will have a “vampire-worthy” wedding bouquet in no time!

We wish Candice and her rock star husband years of happiness together! (And we look forward to watching her on Vampire Diaries for many more seasons…)
