We’ll be unveiling the entries over the next little while as we receive them. Here’s Marie’s Entry — a story with a bunchesdirect connection to it!

Pierre-Marc and I have been together for almost ten years when he did propose, at the end of summer of 2012.  The story that led to that wonderful and unforgettable moment began at my mom’s wedding, on May 19, 2012.

A wonderful wedding, by the way, as my mom did buy the flowers from you guys.  All white and red roses.  They were stunning.  When the time came for my mom to throw the bouquet, it fell right in front on me, and I caught it!  The celebrant, which happened to be the mother of my stepfather, came to see Pierre-Marc and said:  “Well my boy, congratulations, you’re next!”  It was kind of funny, strange and touching at the same time.

Then, Pierre-Marc thought it out. A few months later,  he invited me for a nice dinner and  made his grand proposal.  No wonder I said yes!  We love each other so much. We were supposed to get married this summer, but  we just had a beautiful baby boy, and we decided to tie the knot on June, 2014.

We’ll be unveiling the entries over the next little while as we receive them. Here’s Sandra’s entry, of a Christmas to remember.

My fiancé proposed to me on Christmas morning. It was our son’s first Christmas.  I was sitting on the couch and he passed me a gift.  I never noticed he was on one knee.  I opened up the gift and saw a really cute cuddly teddy bear, so I yanked him out of the box.

When I did I heard something hit the bottom of the box, so I looked in the box and there was the ring.  I looked up and instantly started crying, and he asked if I would marry him. As I was balling my eyes out and saying yes, that’s when I finally noticed he was on one knee.

We’ll be unveiling the entries over the next little while as we receive them. Here’s Jenna’s entry, of a new year’s eve party for the ages.

This story I feel is more entertaining due to the fact that Travis duped me for a solid month and even had me believe that he was carrying the ring in a contact case the entire time as opposed to the lovely red box that it really came in.

It starts in at Thanksgiving of 2012, we decided to host Thanksgiving for our immediate families, and low and behold due to the timing, I completely thought that the ring was coming that day. Travis was giving all sorts of hints and being super secretive about this contact case that he kept with him at all times. I was picking up things one day while in preperations of turkey day and low and behold i picked up the case and he started freaking out. I then ask what in the world is in this case, and of course he opens it up and inside was actually a filling that had fell out of his mouth about month prior to that, and he said that he carried it with him everyday to remind him to floss. To which of course I respond with, “its not a ring!”…his response “of course not honey, if i were getting you a ring, it wouldn’t fit in a contact case.”Fast forward two days, a discussion in the car: Travis says “Well honey, I suppose I am going to want to talk to your dad at Christmas so that I can make sure he is ok with me getting added to the family as well as giving you away as lets face it, forever is a long time.” (me now super excited starts arranging it to happen)

Christmas comes and goes and with the many festivities that are had, I am getting bombarded from people asking “has it happened, has it happened?” And Christmas comes and goes and it never happens. I am of course getting anxious and nervous and well impatient as any girl would in this time. Finally, New Years Eve is here and we are going out like we normally do, me all dressed up in a fancy dress and him in a nice looking black suit. We head to dinner with some of our friends and then proceed to head to the party of the evening at a friends house where all of our closest friends were at. All night I am getting text messages of “its gonna happen, has it happened, we want pics” to which my response was, “give it a rest, i just want to enjoy my night, i will let you know if it happens, but tonight its not gonna, so relax.” (yes i was a little frustrated) I sent my last text like that at 11:40 pm….at that point we all start gathering together in the main area of the house and getting champagne glasses and what not, getting ready for the count down. At this point Travis starts making a speech and I am looking at him, like “you idiot, seriously you are 10 minutes early, please stop being dumb” and he continues his speech by saying: “Thanks everyone for such a great year, and I appreciate you all for being here tonight and I hope everyone’s 2013 is as much fun as I am about to have.”

He then proceeds to get down on one knee and says “Jenna, Will you marry me?”…I stare down in shock as I can’t believe this just happened and I know it was probably like 2 secs, but for me it felt like an eternity before I could formulate the words to say “Yes of course!” …at that point…we hugged and everyone was celebrating, and then 5 minutes later Travis goes “Jenna you realize you have to wear this now” and he proceeds to put the ring on my finger. He tells me at the point that everyone at the party knew it was happening so we were able to get some action shots of the engagement as he wanted to make sure we had a couple. He then also says “You may want to call your parents as they are waiting for the phone call, they have known since before Thanksgiving that this was going to be happening tonight.”

And now after 9 months of planning…we only have 6 months to go before our March 1, 014 wedding! Best day ever!

We’ll be unveiling the entries over the next little while as we receive them. Here’s mELanie’s entry, which involves not one, but two proposals, with an assist from the engagement  photographer.

To be honest I knew it was coming!! I overheard Payton ( my fiancé) telling my brother that he was going to marry me some day. He was not very good at hiding it either… he started asking what style of ring I liked and leaving open web pages from jewelry stores. From the very beginning Payton and I knew we were starting something special. He tried to take me to dinner, but I refused to go.. I was too exhausted from a busy week at work. So he got down on his knee right then and there. I know I know.. not so romantic, but it was really sweet.. Well after announcing our engagement poor Payton got sooooo much crap for not asking me in a “romantic” way. I loved the way he asked me, but I could tell he was having regrets on not asking me in a better way.

So after getting a new diamond and my ring needing to be sized.. Payton talked to the jeweler and had him trick me into thinking that my ring was not going to be ready for at least another week. I was pretty upset because we had our engagement photos set up for that weekend. So we decided to take our engagement photos without my ring. Half way through the session Payton surprised me with my new ring and he got down on one knee. He apologized for not giving me the romantic proposal story I deserved and re asked me to marry him. It was a very untraditional way to ask, but I love our story and best of all the photographer caught the moment.

We’ll be unveiling the entries over the next little while as we receive them. Here’s mELISSA’S ENTRY, OF AN ENGAGEMENT BORN OUT OF FRIENDS WITH COMMON INTERESTS THAT BLOSSOMED INTO A LOVE ALL ITS OWN.

Ross and I met 18 months ago.  We were both working on a political campaign, and he delivered a load of yard signs to our area.  That was when I got my first glimpse of him, standing under the lighted sign in the parking lot of a local store.  In the not-so-bright light, my only impression was that he had “kind eyes” – a true first impression, as I was to find out.  As the campaign progressed we had regular contact, and after election day we continued to chat about the events of the day.  Those chats became more frequent and often took rabbit trails into other subjects than just political geekery.  We found we had many things in common – enjoyed philosophical rambles, the sort that usually bores our family and friends to death, had an interest in all things English, loved watching movies, and were both terrible bookworms.  Our friendship took off, and very soon we were best friends.  He shared his favorite movies, books and music with me, and I shared mine with him – he loves action movies, folk rock and movie soundtracks, and I love romantic period dramas and classical music.  Before too long we were desperately trying to keep our friendship from moving into a romantic relationship.  We loved each other deeply, but were not sure that was what was meant to be.  Finally this February, a year after we met, we gave in – it was impossible not to.  Following that realization, we began a serious relationship, learning more about each other.  That led to falling more and more in love…

One evening two weeks ago he came to pick me up and take to to eat “at the folks’”, which I supposed meant eating dinner with them.  When I got in his truck, he had the soundtrack from one of my favorite movies, BBC’s adaptation of Jane Austen’s “Emma”, playing.  I thought that was really sweet, and just like him to get something he knew I liked.  But I still didn’t realize that “this is IT”…  When we got to his family’s farm, he drove on up to his house, and said we’d sit on the porch swing until his sisters got there for dinner.  He turned the music up and we sat there for a little bit enjoying the view and the music and the cooler weather.  But I still didn’t realize that “this is IT”…  He then went in to “get some iced tea”, and came back out with a picnic basket and a blanket.  He told me it was a surprise, and was supposed to be to celebrate that it had been 18 months since we met.  And I still didn’t realize that “this is IT”…

So we sat on the hill overlooking the farm, ate the picnic dinner of chicken salad, crackers, cheeses and grapes, drank sweet tea from mason jars, and listened to the music from the truck.  It was lovely, and I even mentioned how fun it was to have a “soundtrack for real life”, but still I didn’t realize that “this is IT”.  Until dinner was over.  He reached over and hugged me, and I looked down, and in his other hand was a beautiful sparkling solitaire diamond ring.  I was so overwhelmed – this was “IT”!  The whole evening had been just perfect, so very sweet, everything exactly to my tastes, and somehow I’d missed it!  I hugged him, and just laughed…and laughed and laughed…  It was either that or cry for joy…  After a while he pulled me away a little and asked, “Well, will you?”  “YES!”  So now after our perfect engagement story, we are working on our wedding plans for next February, hoping that they will turn out as perfect as his proposal – and happily planning our life together, our happily ever after.

We’ll be unveiling the entries over the next little while as we receive them. Here’s lINDSAY’S ENTRY, PROVING THAT GOOD THINGS COME TO THOSE WHO WAIt.

I actually proposed to AJ first.  He said not at the moment.  I had to beat him to the punch… I knew he was going to propose. That made me  nervous and scared…I wanted more time for us to be in love before the craziness of a wedding. Growing up I was not that girl who dreamed of my fairy tale wedding when I met my prince. As a kid… I new fairy tales were not real. As an adult…I believe we all get a fairytale of our own.

On Thanksgiving 2011 AJ asked me if I would want to get married, I said YES!  The following weekend we went to look at rings. The one I fell in love with was out of our budget. AJ promised me he would buy me that ring.  AJ bought me a promise ring that I received at Christmas.

March 6, 2013 AJ got on one knee, made perfect eye contact, and proposed with the my dream engagement ring. It was a pleasant surprise! It was perfect! I was covered in paint from painting our bathroom… the proposal was still romantic. I have not been excited like that ever that I can remember. The best things are worth waiting for…this moment proved that to me. I learned a lesson that day…I may not always get what I want right away…with time and love…all your wants come true. I realized when something is not perfect… does not mean it is not worth waiting for.
