Coming up with your centerpieces is always one of the most important, and sometimes the most difficult, decisions when planning your event. Most of us think of traditional vases for our centerpieces, in various shapes and materials. Don’t be afraid to get creative with your containers! They can be the best way to incorporate a theme and set up some unique table settings that will have your guests talking for months to come.

And what is one of the best sources for inspiration when it comes to creative containers? Your own kitchen! A rummage through your shelves can yield some wonderful ideas for how to create some truly special centerpieces. Once you choose your container, you can find the numbers you will need from online suppliers, through kitchen supply stores, or local shops including your dollar store. Buy fresh bulk flowers to complete your look. Make things even easier by choosing a beautiful ready-made centerpiece from BunchesDirect. Our centerpieces come assembled and ready to be trimmed to whatever height you need for your own container.

Pretty teapots and stacked plates make for very lovely, and unique, centerpieces! Check out local garage sales, vintage shops or second hand stores for a wonderful budget-friendly selection. This idea would be especially suitable to a bridal shower, a lunch, a tea, or any afternoon event. These pink roses are a lovely complement to the old fashioned charm!

Cake stands are a perfect way to create a very unique and elegant centerpiece, and an easy way to provide height and interest to any table! They also make for a very easy DIY project. Your selection of blooms is endless, and what you choose can suit the formality and the type of event. Choose traditional flowers like roses, peonies or ranunculus for a more traditional affair or vintage theme. Choose bolder blooms like gerbera daisies or bright carnations for a less formal event.

Wine glasses are a go-to way to create beautiful centerpieces on a budget! Use them upside down with blooms under the glass, or right side up as lovely footed vases for your favourite blooms. These fresh tulips are the perfect complement! Try martini or margarita glasses for other fun ideas. Stemless wine glasses will also work—just put the head of one bloom in each glass for a very pretty effect.

Photo from

Galvanized buckets make for great centerpiece containers too. Use this look to create a more informal feel. This would be perfect at a country or beach wedding. Choose flowers like these hydrangeas, snapdragons, roses and alstroemeria for a perfect look!

Photo from

Grab your favorite mixing bowl and set up a beautiful centerpiece! Don’t be afraid to mix styles and patterns on your various tables. (This is another great excuse to tour your local garage sales or vintage shops!) These beautiful fresh peonies are the perfect addition to this vintage bowl. Tip: use masking tape to create a grid pattern across the top of the bowl. This will keep your blooms arranged with ease and precision.

If you have the kitchen containers ready to go, but you aren’t sure what to put in them, go with ready-made centerpieces that you can trim to your needs. We’ve collected a few to show you here, but be sure and see all centerpieces at BunchesDirect. Have fun rummaging in your own kitchen—you never know where inspiration can strike!

If you’re a fan of Million Dollar Listing, then you have no doubt been following the romance between stars Josh Altman, and Heather Bilyeu. Both are realtors on the hit reality series, and have been in a relationship for the past five years (after meeting through Josh’s rival realtor, Madison.) They were engaged in 2013 and originally intended to wed in 2014, but put the wedding on hold to focus on more “important” aspects of their relationship. They finally tied the knot on Saturday April 2, 2016.

Friday night the pair enjoyed a rehearsal dinner with close friends and had plenty of laughs during their comedy-style “roast.”

Josh Altman Instagram

The wedding itself took place Saturday afternoon at the swanky St. Regis Aspen Resort in Aspen, Colorado, with 87 guests in attendance. Guests sipped on hot chocolate and hot apple cider before the outdoor, traditional Jewish ceremony began. Heather, 31, wore a strapless custom gown by Nektaria, while Josh, 37, stayed sleek and traditional in a modern black tuxedo. Heather’s gown included more than 6500 pearls and beads as well as a long, flowing train. She wore a sheer cape for the ceremony to keep her shoulders covered.

Josh Altman Instagram

According to Heather, much of the wedding theme was influenced by the setting. “Aspen Mountain [was] the backdrop of the ceremony,” She explained. “We really wanted to … have our décor work with that and showcase the mountain and play up the rustic Aspen vibes.” We adore all the rustic intertwined branches, the natural stumps, as well as the white candles and mix of white blooms used to accent the venue. Flowers included a beautiful choice of white hydrangeas, dahlias, roses, gladiolus and more for a lush, natural look.. (All blooms area available in bulk at BunchesDirect so you can create your own “Aspen” look, for less!)

The pair preferred to keep their celebration very ‘family-oriented,” as Josh explained. The reception was held at Caribou Club Lodge, and featured traditional comfort foods such as truffle French fries, mac and cheese balls, and pigs in a blanket.

Josh shared an Instagram photo of the couple posed in front of the Aspen scenery, pre- ceremony.

In March, the couple enjoyed a luxurious bridal shower that included a custom perfume bar. We loved the floral touches, including the beautiful flower wall that served as a gorgeous backdrop for guest photos. We also love, love, loved the tall centerpieces and floral accents, that included orchids, hydrangeas, pink, peach, pale yellow and white roses in a romantic, feminine mix. There is something so enduring and romantic about getting married at the beach! Beach weddings remain one of the most popular types of celebrations. Couples can opt to keep things super casual and low key, joining with family and friends in a relaxed and informal day, or they can opt for a more formal affair with elegant touches including a tent and a sit down meal at another location. Beach wedding flowers can be vibrant and fun, or pale and elegant depending on the overall goal and theme of the event.

Seashells, starfish and small anchors are the perfect choice to accent your beach wedding flowers and tables. They are readily available at dollar and craft stores and are easy to add to a vibrant bouquet, to scatter on tables, or to add to your centerpieces. (Mini starfish are also very sweet for attaching to your guest place cards.)

Photo from

You can even use sand and seashells to fill inexpensive glass vases for your beach themed centerpieces. Order beautiful bulk flowers to fill the vases.

Two of the most iconic color schemes for beach weddings are blue and white, which gives a more nautical, crisp air, or tan and white, which evokes images of sand and bright sun. Try beautiful blue centerpieces and bouquets from BunchesDirect, such as Classic Blue Hydrangea bouquets, Heavenly Mist bouquets, or Blue Hydrangea Centerpieces.

All white flowers are another perfect choice for this theme. Your flowers and accents will work well in this color scheme for your beautiful beach wedding, especially if you want a bit more of a traditional or elegant tone.

Another popular color choice for beach wedding flowers is high contract, such as orange, yellow, green or fuschia. These hues evoke tropical or Caribbean vibe to your celebration and keep things a bit more vibrant and relaxed.

Building a wedding arch or even a small canopy of some kind helps set apart the place for your vows during the ceremony. This clever construction evokes the idea of driftwood. Use beautiful fresh bulk flowers to decorate your arch and give it that special touch. Try white roses (sold by the stem or by the box at BunchesDirect), or white carnations if you love what’s shown!

Photo from

Another amazing idea for your beach wedding flowers is to order beautiful bulk flowers and create a heart on the beach to surround the wedding vows. A high contrast color like red will work nicely and lend an added touch of romance. Try red roses, red ranunculus, or red gerbera daisies. You could even do this using bulk red rose petals!

We’ve all heard the old saying, “there is never a second chance to make a first impression.” The same thing certainly holds true for your event venue! When guests arrive, the entryway and reception areas provide them with their first impression of your theme, set the tone for level of formality, and displays the overall care that you have taken with your event. The goal, of course, is to make your guests feel welcomed and special, and to set a beautiful tone for the rest of the festivities. Taking time to add some lovely decorative touches to the entryway area, or to the entrance to the ceremony area, will help create a memorable impact. And while you can opt for other decorative touches, there is no better way to dress a space than by using beautiful fresh flowers.

Photo from

Choose an assortment of vivid colours and greet your guests with a feeling of energy and beauty. (You can also set your wedding cake out so that everyone can see it as they arrive as opposed to tucking it away for later.) Use petals or the heads of flowers in decorative trays for an easy way to add impact to what would otherwise be a forgotten and boring table in a lobby or entry. Try hot pink carnations, yellow ranunculus, or purple roses for a wonderful mix of blooms. The best part about choosing vivid colors? A little goes a long way!

Photo from

Create a grand effect for your entry hall by draping fabric in the archway outside your ceremony space. This venue went all out but even one set of artfully arranged drapes or some simple fabric, topped by beautiful fresh flowers, will have your guests really talking! Use carnations and daisies to keep costs very low!

Photo from

As guests walk across the lobby of your venue, an easy and wonderful touch is to hang beautiful floral pomanders (commonly known as “kissing balls”) from the chandelier. Floral pomanders could also be suspended from shepherd’s hoots to line a pathway for guests as they arrive to an outdoor event, or from a gazebo or porch in an outdoor ceremony. (Read how to make your own floral pomanders and see how easy it is!)

Photo from

If your guests are picking up their place cards as they enter your event space, be sure to dress the table with lovely bouquets of fresh flowers. This will add a classy touch to what could otherwise be a fairly dull line up of cards. Try white hyrdrangeas or white snapdragons for easy elegance.

Photo from

If you are having an outdoor wedding or event, greet guests with a beautiful floral archway. This will definitely set the scene and signal that the outdoor space has been transformed into something “extra special” instead of “everyday average.” Use an existing archway, pergola or create your own for the day. Roses and rose petals are always wonderful choices!

There is often something special about a country wedding. Whether it’s the more relaxed informality, the venue where Mother Nature usually plays a bigger part of the event, or the many down-home touches, a country wedding will almost certainly provide you and your guests with fond memories. Popular venues for a country wedding vary widely, from rustic farms, elegant vineyards, relaxed gardens, tranquil forests, or scenic mountaintops  Anything goes so long as it has a more rustic, outdoor connection.

The flowers are an important decor element in any wedding and certainly this is true for country events. Choose flowers that are less formal and fussy to reinforce your country theme. Excellent choices include daisies, chrysanthemums, sunflowers, baby’s breath, roses, carnations, gerbera daisies, ranunculus, or hydrangeas.

Photo from

Wooden accents can add to the “country” vibe in conjunction with your wedding flowers. Use more informal vases such as these mason jars set on top of wooden tree trunk trays to add to your rustic look. These daisies and yellow craspedia are the perfect choice for flowers.

Nancy Ray Photography

Another way to incorporate some wooden accents: place wooden “stumps” or wine barrels along your wedding aisle, whether indoors or out, and top with beautiful bouquets of fresh flowers and greenery.

Jane Medley Flora Design

You could also use wooden ladders to create a wonderful frame for your vows. The rustic informality of the wood provides good contrast to the delicacy of the flowers and gives your venue a relaxed touch. Roses or carnations in various pastel colors work well. Try seeded eucalyptus or leatherleaf fern for more casual looking greens.

Lillian Prince Photography

Buy some bulk flowers such as simple carnations and perhaps some baby’s breath, add a piece of fabric in your theme color, and wrap with burlap to create your own country rustic boutonnieres. (See more ideas like this at Great American Country).

Photo from

Galvanized metal buckets, wine bottles, woven baskets or even old cowboy boots are other creative ways to display your country wedding flowers. These buckets filled with simple but beautiful baby’s breath frame the aisle chairs and create the perfect (and extremely budget friendly!) rustic accent for the bride’s grand entrance.

Sunflowers are always a wonderful choice for a country wedding! Their cheery relaxed look is a perfect complement to a barn or farm venue.

Photo from

Table settings can be more relaxed at farm weddings, making your guests feel right at home. Use casual tableware and glassware with colorful linens, or even old quilts. Choose simple bouquets of flowers such as these yellow roses and white stock to stay in keeping with the more casual vibe. You can also choose a pre-made country centerpiece—just trim the stems to fit your container of choice.

Mason jars can serve many functions at a country wedding (you can even use them to serve your signature cocktails). Wrapped in lace and wired for hanging, they are a sweet decorative touch when strung from tree branches, arbors, gazebos or other elevated areas. Try a mix of bright casual flowers such as purple dahlias or ranunculus, pink carnations, purple alstroemeria, and white chrysanthemum daisies.

Pretty bouquets of mixed bloomes can also provide the perfect more informal touches to your wedding party. Opt out of formal or fussy cascading bouquets with a lot of symmetry and structure and keep things more relaxed.
