Ribbon Vase with Bright Blooms

countryliving.com

Buy a square tin from the dollar store and hot glue on ribbons in various pretty colors to coordinate with your theme. Choose brightly colored flowers such as these pink peonies, pink tulips, red roses, and bright green verbena to create some gorgeous visual “punch.” This effect is more casual and festive, so it would suit a variety of venues and less formal themes.

Dreamy Driftwood

BridalGuide.com

If you have having a beach or farm wedding, you can make a very creative table display out of a piece of old driftwood, lumber, or an interesting tree branch. Drill holes for the flowers and order up a selection of your favorite blooms such as bold dahlias, pretty roses and dainty ranunculus. You can use slim bud vases or even beakers to hold water for your flowers.

Pumpkin Vase Centerpieces

Womangettingmarried.com

If you are having a fall wedding or event, using pumpkins for vases combined with warm orange-toned flowers creates the perfect touch! Remove pumpkin tops, thoroughly clean and hollow out space inside, and add tin cans or other plastic containers to hold the water. Choose flowers such as orange calla lilies, coral roses, or orange gerbera daisies to enhance the autumn effect.

Above and Below

Womangettingmarried.com

Create a long linear centerpiece effect with flowers and greens and keep your flowers all the same color, such as this clean white selection. For extra-amazing effect, hang separate blooms such as white carnations from clear fishing wire overhead. Your guests are sure to be amazed and your event will be the talk of the town.

Stacked Plexiglass

Poshpurpose.com

Purchase plexiglass boxes from a craft or organizer store. Fill each one with a different variety of flower. For most impact, place one flower type in uniform color in each box, coordinating the overall color choices with your other decor accents. Stack the boxes– and bingo, you will have one of the most creative centerpieces at any event, with very little effort!

Your tables are one of the key elements of your party or reception. Not only does their overall look make a big statement in your overall decorating scheme, but your guests will be spending a lot of time here. Making sure that your tables are pretty and coordinated will boost the look of your special event and enhance guest comfort. Your choice of centerpiece is the main focal point for your tables, so selecting the right arrangement will be one of your most important decor decisions. Here are some things to consider:

Bright Reflection by BunchesDirect

Budget

Determine how much you want to spend overall, and bear this in mind when calculating the number of tables you have. Arriving at your budget per centerpiece will be a first step in your decision making. Some good budget-saving tips include using seasonal flowers, perhaps floating flowers in water, choosing flower types that are less pricey such as carnations or certain roses, and using a professional online vendor to eliminate the higher retail pricing found at traditional florists

Guest Comfort

Keep in mind that your guests will be occupying the tables for sometimes hours at a time. Avoid choosing centerpieces that are too tall and full, as guests won’t be able to see or converse with each other. If any of your guests have allergies or sensitivities to scents, you may want to avoid high fragrance or high pollen flower choices, such as lilies. (Your professional floral consultant will be able to guide you.) If the venue is dimly lit, you may want to consider adding tea lights or other candles to your centerpiece arrangements to boost guest lighting.

Table Shape and Size

Consider the basic dimensions of your tables when choosing the perfect centerpieces. Round tables will look wonderful when highlighted with one centerpeice in the center, while rectangular tables will be well complemented by a series of centerpieces placed at regular intervals. Whatever the shape, make sure that your centerpiece suits the table size. A tiny centerpiece will look lost on a large round table that seats 12, while a very large centerpiece will overwhelm a small round that seats 4-6 and occupy too much of the available space to allow for glassware and comfortable dining.

Venue

Keep the overall venue in mind in your centerpiece selection. Is it a very formal and traditional hall, with lots of gold and glitter? In this case choosing a very rustic centerpiece, such as gerbera daisies, may look a bit out of place. Is it informal, modern, vivid, indoors, outdoors? All of these factors should be considered. If it is outdoors, for example, choose flowers that are a bit sturdier and can stand up to the elements more than a delicate choice might. You might also want to check with your venue to make sure that glass vases and candles are allowed as regulations may vary.

Overall Color Palette and Theme

Your centerpieces should definitely complement your chosen color palette and overall decor theme for the wedding or event. Select flowers and containers that will coordinate with or best complement your color palette, to create a pleasing final look for your tables and venue. If it’s a golden anniversary party, for example, consider flowers in creams and golds, such as bronze fuji spider mums with cream roses, in keeping with the theme. Baby showers usually are well complemented by pastels, while a rocking modern dance party might do well with more vivid flower choices, such as hot pink carnations mixed with bright green button mums in sleek black vases.Browse through photos to gather your ideas!

Simply trim the stems to fit your container, and you have instant magic for your tables. Best of luck with your planning!

Coming up with your centerpieces is always one of the most important, and sometimes the most difficult, decisions when planning your event. Most of us think of traditional vases for our centerpieces, in various shapes and materials. Don’t be afraid to get creative with your containers! They can be the best way to incorporate a theme and set up some unique table settings that will have your guests talking for months to come.

And what is one of the best sources for inspiration when it comes to creative containers? Your own kitchen! A rummage through your shelves can yield some wonderful ideas for how to create some truly special centerpieces. Once you choose your container, you can find the numbers you will need from online suppliers, through kitchen supply stores, or local shops including your dollar store. Buy fresh bulk flowers to complete your look. Make things even easier by choosing a beautiful ready-made centerpiece from BunchesDirect. Our centerpieces come assembled and ready to be trimmed to whatever height you need for your own container.

Cake stands are a perfect way to create a very unique and elegant centerpiece, and an easy way to provide height and interest to any table! They also make for a very easy DIY project. Your selection of blooms is endless, and what you choose can suit the formality and the type of event. Choose traditional flowers like roses, peonies or ranunculus for a more traditional affair or vintage theme. Choose bolder blooms like gerbera daisies or bright carnations for a less formal event.

Wine glasses are a go-to way to create beautiful centerpieces on a budget! Use them upside down with blooms under the glass, or right side up as lovely footed vases for your favourite blooms. These fresh tulips are the perfect complement! Try martini or margarita glasses for other fun ideas. Stemless wine glasses will also work—just put the head of one bloom in each glass for a very pretty effect.

Age is no detriment to love and romance, and we definitely saw this with the very chic and simple wedding of former supermodel Jerry Hall to Australian media mogul Rupert Murdoch.

Jerry Hall, 59, was well known for her glamorous modelling career and her relationship with Rolling Stones front man Mick Jagger, with whom she shares four children. Rupert Murdoch, 85, was born in Australia to a family that owned several newspapers. He is best known for his global media empire and his creation of FOX Broadcasting in 1986, to name only one of his larger American conquests. He has six children and has been married three times previously.

The somewhat unexpected couple met last summer in Australia and apparently “clicked” immediately. They began to share increasing amounts of time and were spotted together at several key events during the fall. They spent New Year’s Eve together on a yacht in the Caribbean together with some of their children.

Their wedding took place on Friday March 4, in a small ceremony attended by only a handful of close friends and family. The second event took place Saturday with a private civil ceremony at the beautiful St. Bride’s Church in London. Guests included Sir Bob Gelfof and Sir Michael Caine as well as various members of Mick Jagger’s extended family. The couple’s various daughters served as bridesmaids and flower girls and wore different shades of blue. Wedding flowers were white, with the groomsmen sporting white rose boutonnieres. Rupert’s two youngest daughters, Grace and Chloe, carried charming wicker baskets that included ivy, white roses, white spray roses, and delicate white stephanotis.
