These centerpieces would be a beautiful addition to a wedding or a special event. Buy your bulk flowers from a reputable online vendor such as BunchesDirect. This will save you up to 70% from retail florists, with farm fresh flowers delivered right to your door for you to work your creative magic!

Ribbon Vase with Bright Blooms

countryliving.com

Buy a square tin from the dollar store and hot glue on ribbons in various pretty colors to coordinate with your theme. Choose brightly colored flowers such as these pink peonies, pink tulips, red roses, and bright green verbena to create some gorgeous visual “punch.” This effect is more casual and festive, so it would suit a variety of venues and less formal themes.

Dreamy Driftwood

BridalGuide.com

If you have having a beach or farm wedding, you can make a very creative table display out of a piece of old driftwood, lumber, or an interesting tree branch. Drill holes for the flowers and order up a selection of your favorite blooms such as bold dahlias, pretty roses and dainty ranunculus. You can use slim bud vases or even beakers to hold water for your flowers.

Pumpkin Vase Centerpieces

Womangettingmarried.com

If you are having a fall wedding or event, using pumpkins for vases combined with warm orange-toned flowers creates the perfect touch! Remove pumpkin tops, thoroughly clean and hollow out space inside, and add tin cans or other plastic containers to hold the water. Choose flowers such as orange calla lilies, coral roses, or orange gerbera daisies to enhance the autumn effect.

Above and Below

Womangettingmarried.com

Create a long linear centerpiece effect with flowers and greens and keep your flowers all the same color, such as this clean white selection. For extra-amazing effect, hang separate blooms such as white carnations from clear fishing wire overhead. Your guests are sure to be amazed and your event will be the talk of the town.

Stacked Plexiglass

Poshpurpose.com

Purchase plexiglass boxes from a craft or organizer store. Fill each one with a different variety of flower. For most impact, place one flower type in uniform color in each box, coordinating the overall color choices with your other decor accents. Stack the boxes– and bingo, you will have one of the most creative centerpieces at any event, with very little effort!

Even the most ideal venue can have a few challenging elements. Whether your venue is drab or fab, flowers are a perfect way to dress your day!

Using fresh flowers to conceal things you don’t love, or enhance the things you do, is a perfect solution; the bonus is that you can add color, life and impact while complementing your theme at the same time. Buy in bulk from a reputable online vendor and you will be surprised how much you can do, for an amazing price.

Check out these great tips for using flowers to make sure all the elements of your venue are at their very best.

Fountains

If the entrance to your wedding or event has a fountain, consider not having predictable water running full out from each tier. Adding fresh flowers to a tier instead of water converts a traditional concrete element into an instant style statement. This is sure to get your guests talking as they walk up to your big event. Try hydrangeas, snapdragons and longer greens like seeded eucalyptus.

Trees

If there is a tree that you don’t love, or perhaps a few that you do, use fresh flowers to add an aerial focal point. The pops of color will brighten the bark and enhance your wedding theme if you go for a coordinating look. These hanging pomanders (kissing balls) are perfect in this outdoor venue. Staircases

If your venue has a staircase, don’t overlook it! Enhance it with the addition of a garland of greens and/or fresh blooms in softly coordinating hues. Adding candles and other creative touches is another way to add impact and guest enjoyment. A simple staircase can become something truly breathtaking!

Chandeliers

Don’t forget the overhead light fixtures at your venue. Some of these can be pretty drab and dull. Hide the metal and add life and color to what is usually strictly utilitarian by draping your favorite fresh flowers and greens for a stunning visual display. Swimming Pool

If your venue contains a pond or a swimming pool, don’t miss the opportunity to add more flowers to play up this feature. You can buy floating boards of styrofoam and plastic to hold beautiful floral centerpieces. Use hearty flowers such as ferns, daisies, mums, and lilies. Another idea is to float pomanders or even just to scatter rose petals or carnation tops on the water’s surface.

Walls

Let’s face it, walls at the venue can be bare and drab without some added “wow” factor. Don’t overlook some added pizazz for any wall located behind a key element of your celebration, such as the cake or dessert table, bride and groom table, gift table or a bar. Create a lovely backdrop by using flowers to make a flower accent piece. Another fun idea is to tape flowers, stem and all, to a backdrop, for a simple yet so interesting touch! Patrick J. Adams, star of the popular legal drama Suits, wed actress Troaian Bellisario of Pretty Little Liars in a beautiful rustic ceremony in California.

Splash News Online

The handsome Hollywood duo tied the knot on December 10 in an outdoor oceanfront ceremony at Rancho Dos Pueblos. They had been engaged for three years.

Their 200 guests included Bellasario’s co-stars such as Lulu Brud and Keegan Alllen and Adams’ co-stars Brendan Hines. His rather famous co-star Meghan Markle did not attend but went shopping with a friend instead, due to her fears of overshadowing the newlyweds. (Due to Meghan’s romance with Prince Harry, she has been dogged by the paps for some weeks.)

Apparently the three-day event was “camping themed” and very boho. Patrick drove guests to the wedding himself in a vintage white bus.featuring a sign that read “almost married,”

Troaian wore a beautiful Cortana gown with a gold crown while Patrick wore a navy suit by Ralph Lauren. Troaian’s father is famous producer Donald Bellisario and was on hand to walk her down the aisle..Guests cheered when the pair were announced man and wife, and the happy couple headed to the beach for some wedding photos.

Their first dance was romantic and sweet and they are clearly over the moon with happiness. Instead of gifts the couple asked guests to donate to designated charities. Extra sweet!

Flowers like mums, carnations and daisies are making a comeback! This is also wonderful news for your budget as these beautiful flowers also tend to be some of the most cost effective. This vintage look will continue to trend big in the new year. Think also roses, hydrangeas, peonies and other old fashioned blooms and add special charm to your big day.

Floral Table Runners

Photo from tablerdecoratingideas.com

More couples or event planners are opting out of traditional centerpieces in vases in favor of the more “wild” and unstructured look of a floral table runner. You can DIY this too: simply pick your fave flowers and greens and artfully arrange them down the middle of your tables. Your guests are sure to be impressed!

Flower Colors: Neutrals plus Bolds

Forever Connecting BunchesDirect

Blush continues to be hot for 2017, especially when you pair a relative neutral such as blush, cream or white flowers, with a more saturated hue. Think cream paired with deep burgundy blooms, rich coral paired with pale dove accents, blush paired with hot pink or red. Mixing light with dark flowers gives life and energy to your arrangements and will keep things looking fresh and current.

Creative Containers

Photo from modernwedding.com

We are also seeing more use of containers such a lanterns, mercury glass globes vases, vintage etched glass jars, or gold footed vases instead of more common looking vases. Again, creating a unique, unstructured ambiance or old world charm is a great way to go in 2017.

One of the most popular wedding and event themes of the day is certainly “bohemian,” “shabby” or “vintage” chic.” It’s also one of our faves for flowers — this theme provides ample choice of flower type and color and lets you get especially creative with your choice of container or accents. This theme provides a relaxed and very pretty atmosphere at any wedding or event. We’ve gathered some great tips to help you plan.

Venues

Bohemian chic is suited to a variety of venues but seems especially appropriate for outdoor garden, woodland or rustic settings. The vibe should never be too stuffy or monochromatic and even if not outside, ideally your venue will contain natural element such as greenery, wood, and yes, lots of fresh flowers! The more flowers and greens the better to create a lush and layered “bohemian” look.

Flower Colors

Boho chic themes work in a variety of colors. You could go very bohemian and use rich jewel tones of all kinds, which cultivates a warm and liberated almost “carnival” atmosphere.

Shown left: Rich red calla lilies, orange dahlias, and bright yellow sunflowers combine with the dark blue lanterns and colorful woven table runners to create a visual feast.

Shades of pink and white with green or teal accents also work well with a boho theme, and a garden or woodland setting. Think antique dressers, woven hearts, vintage candlesticks, ropes of pearls,  and a lush, romantic vibe. Daisies, roses, hydrangeas and peonies would work well. Be sure to order plenty of flowers as they are a key component of  any boho event.

DIY Floral Accents

The more relaxed style of boho chic is perfect for the do-it-yourself type! Get creative and make your own centerpieces. This theme does not call for perfect and precise but let’s you express yourself in without fuss or formality.

The photo above shows you a simple DIY suggestion for some fabulous boho table centrepieces. Paint mason jars in various colors to suit your theme. Choose flowers like these beautiful plump dahlias and freesias in rich jewel tones, with sweet accents like the baby’s breath and the craspedia (also called “billy balls”). Mason jars of any kind are perfect for boho themes, and adding special touches like vintage books, antique mirrors, pretty candles, handmade cards.
